Storing & reheating meal prep safely

How long your meals last, how to freeze them properly, and how to reheat them so they still taste like they should.

Getting storage and reheating right is what actually makes meal prep work day to day, and it's simpler than it sounds.

In the fridge

Your Knockout Kitchen box arrives chilled, packed with an insulated liner and ice packs. Put meals straight into the fridge on arrival. Keep refrigerated and consume within 2-3 days of delivery.

In the freezer

If you won't get through a meal within 2-3 days, freeze it, ideally as soon as possible after delivery, in its original sealed container where practical. When you're ready to eat it, thaw it fully in the fridge (not at room temperature) before reheating.

Reheating

Getting the most out of your week

A lot of people find it easiest to plan which meals they'll eat fresh from the fridge in the next few days, and freeze the rest straight away rather than deciding later. If you're building a bigger box (14 or 21 meals), that's usually the simplest way to make sure nothing goes to waste, see Build Your Box to plan your week.
